Business Description:

In business for more than ten years Riverwest is the only quick serve restaurant and coffee bar in Dawson City. Our fast food format, central location, new custom built building, ample parking and two story outdoor patio make serious competition in the future unlikely. The interior has 40 seats and the outdoor patios seat an additional 50 comfortably.
The menu features a wide variety of soup, sandwiches and salads as well as a selection of burgers, wraps, hot sandwiches, chicken and hand cut fries. A full breakfast selection is also available until 11am daily. Riverwest is currently open from mid March until the end of October. New owners could lengthen the season if they wished as the building is built for year round operation.

Building and Location:

Located on busy Front Street Dawson City, Riverwest occupies a high quality single story wood frame building that was custom build in 2002. With over 3,000 square feet of interior and exterior floor space this well designed building can handle the busy summer traffic with ease. Riverwest is wheelchair accessible and meets all current accessibility requirements.
Front Street features riverside parkland across the street from the restaurant with ample parking for cars and oversized vehicles on both sides of the street. This block of Front Street is easily the busiest tourism area of Dawson City.

Mechanical and Equipment:

A detailed equipment list is available by request. The majority of the equipment was purchased new and has been well maintained. Twin oil fired boilers supply air handlers throughout the building for heating and makeup air requirements. Adjacent to the kitchen are a walk in cooler and freezer with a larger walk in freezer located on the rear loading dock.

Financial History and Future Growth:

The current owners have operated Riverwest since 1997. Consistent annual growth and profit show this to be a safe long term investment. Riverwest has its annual financial reports completed by BDO Dunwoody, one of Canada's largest accounting firms. Full financial disclosure will only be made to pre qualified potential purchasers. Tourism projections in Dawson are positive with a large US based cruise/tour company investing heavily in Dawson over the last 5 Years. With the addition of a liquor license and an expanded dinner menu a new owner could take this business to an even higher level.

Transition and Training:

Transfer to new ownership would most logically take place during the winter months when the restaurant is closed. If required the current owners would be willing to participate in a period of transition and training during spring start up, details of which would be negotiated at the time of sale.
